IRT: Item Response Theory in Survey Methodology (II)
Planned on Wednesday, 14:00 - 16:00 in Room 2.4.
Coordinators:
- Wijbrandt van Schuur; University of Groningen, Netherlands
Description:
Item Response Theory encompasses a variety of measurement models and techniques to measure both respondents and items, that can be applied in survey analysis. Next to parametric models such as the one, two, or three parameter logistic models for the measurement of latent traits such as abilities and attitudes, ordinal (“nonparametric”) models have been developed for ‘dominance’ items (e.g., Andrich, Rasch, Birnbaum, Mokken, Guttman) as well as parametric or ordinal models for ‘proximity’ items (unfolding, circumplex; e.g., Roberts, Andrich, Van Schuur, Coombs). Papers are invited in which such models are applied in survey research or are further developed.
