Warsaw 2009: Sessions
Health Surveys in Europe
Planned on Tuesday, 11:00 - 13:00 in Room 2.3.
Coordinators:
- Mathis Schröder; University of Mannheim, Germany
Description:
The measurement of health is important for various reasons. For example, the health care expenditures are increasing across Europe, and to evaluate health care in terms of its influence on patients, measures of health are needed. An important aspect for Europe is how the different institutional settings impact health in the various countries, and thus measurements of health that allow comparisons across European countries seem imperative.
This session aims at introducing various health surveys in Europe, touching on sampling issues and measurements taken, but also on possible ethical concerns encountered in the development process as well as brief introductions on the research potential.
