Becoming a member

The possibilities to organise the different activities depend of course on the members of the ESRA.
The membership is in principle open to anybody who is interested in the quality of survey research.

The advantage of a membership of the ESRA is that you will be informed about the activities of the ESRA like conferences, courses, etc. We will also inform the members automatically about similar activities of the European Association for Methodology (EAM).

We recommend anybody interested in survey research to become a member of the ESRA so that we know how many people are interested in our activities. It also provides us with the minimal financial resources to run our different activities.

It is now possible to pay with your credit or debit card, using the secure servers of PayPal. To use this service, just click the "Join Now" button below. You do not need to be or become a PayPal member if you would like to pay with your credit or debit card.

Some people will see a login page after clicking the Join Now button. It is not necessary to create an account and/or to log in; just click 'Use your credit card or bank account (where available)’ in the bottom centre of the page to go directly to the credit card payment form. You do not need to join PayPal to complete this procedure.

Fees

As of 1 January 2008, there are two different yearly membership fees.
(Read about this decision of the general assembly of ESRA in Prague). You can pay either of them by clicking on the button on the right-hand side below.

Regular membership fee: 30 EUR per year.

Discount membership fee: 10 EUR per year. The discount fee is for those who cannot afford to pay the normal membership fee. (1 euro is added to cover transaction costs.)

We leave it up to you to decide into which category you fit.

These fees are for one year. After you complete the payment procedure this fee will be
automatically charged every year unless you cancel your membership. To cancel at any time,
just send us an email

If you do not want your subscription to be automatically renewed, it is also possible to
pay only for this year by clicking the appropriate "pay now" button above.

Donations

The ESRA operates almost entirely on voluntary work. However, not all our activities can be organised for free. The layout of the journal Survey Research Methods, which is freely available to anybody at surveymethods.org for example, is very time-consuming and costly. We therefore welcome any contribution you care to make. If you would like to donate to ESRA, please click the "Donate" button.

Payment by bank transfer

Currently the preferred method of payment of the membership fee is via credit card.
However, if you wish to pay by bank transfer, this is also possible.

Instructions

Please transfer the amount mentioned above to our account. After you receive confirmation that it has been sent, please send us an email with your personal data, the amount you sent us, and the entity that payed (you or your institution). We will send you a confirmation email after we confirm reception of the fee.
